Brighton & Hove Albion faces Southampton in a match from the third round of the Premier League

Brighton & Hove Albion faces Southampton in a match from the third round of the Premier League. We are going to discuss this fixture at The American Express in our English Premier League predictions for today. Are you ready?

Brighton & Hove Albion kicked off ther campaign in the Premier League pretty well, currently being fifth in the standings with 4 points won. The Seagulls achieved a spectacular 3-0 win over Watford at the Vitality Stadium in the first round, while in the second round they made a 1-1 draw at home against West Ham United. Four points from two games played – well, it’s pretty well.

Javier Hernandez opened the score for West Ham last week, but just four minutes later Leandro Trossard equalised for the hosts. Brighton & Hove are aware that every point is important in order to stay in the league, so we are sure that they are pretty satisfied with the way they kicked off their season.

Southampton on the other hand are probably not, because the Saints suffered two losses in the first two rounds.

In their opening game Southampton conceded a defeat against Burnley at the Turf Moor, while last week they hosted Liverpool at the St. Mary’s and got beaten with 1-2. Danny Ings scored for the Saints, but before this Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino put the Reds ahead.

We can say that Southampton’s schedule in the first round was difficult, so let’s not be too heavy on them. The season is long, so they have enough time to win the points they need.

These are our English Premier League predictions for the game between Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton on Saturday. Based on current form and the way these two teams started the campaign, we should regard Brighton & Hove Albion favourites here. Plus, they have the home ground advantage.
